A student who is ill or injured while in school should report to the Health office immediately.  If the nurse is unavailable, report to the Main Office for instructions. Injuries occurring in school activity after school hours (i.e. athletic contest, dances, concerts) must be reported to the nurse the following morning; being certain that the coach or advisor is aware of the injury.

Under New York State Law, the school nurse is permitted to give first aid treatment only to injuries obtained in a school activity. Under certain circumstances, when it is necessary for a student to take medication during school hours, the school nurse may administer the medication if a parent submits a written request from a physician indicating the frequency and dosage of prescribed medication. Such medication is to be brought to the school in its original container by the parent or guardian.

Students who are ill may not leave the building without reporting to the nurse. Offenders will be considered truant from school and disciplinary action will follow.

-Any student with an injury or illness may use the elevator as needed.  Students should receive a pass from the nurse to use the elevator.
