ALCS Spanish Club

This has been one of the high school's largest and most active clubs over the past several years.  Each year participants raise funds for the annual trip to Buffalo, New York.  The performances viewed range from the traditional Flamenco from Spain, which members thouroughly enjoyed this year, to performances done by the Mexican Folkloric Ballet.  After each performance members usually dine at Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurant.

Besides the yearly trip, this year students will be involved in a piņata contest for the Arts Festival.  Piņatas will be judged on overall cultural appeal, thickness, and overall appearance.  Students may take a turn at the piņata for only 50 cents.  Proceeds will benefit the 2007-8 Spanish Club.

Trips abroad are a possibility in the future (the Allegany-Limestone BOE would have to approve any such trip).  Student and parent interest seems to be high.  This would have students engaged in real-life experiences.

If you are interested in joining Spanish Club at any time throughout the school year, just come to a meeting.  We love new members!
